Prince Diabate
Indoor Concert

Prince Diabaté hails from a prominent, Mandingo, family from Guinea, West Africa. A world class musician, Prince Diabaté has toured in Africa, Europe, Canada and the US, developing a unique style, characterized by a dazzlingly fast technique and a dynamic stage presence. Although his main sources of inspiration stem from the traditional Mandingo or Malinké repertoire, he borrows happily from reggae, rap, blues and funk, and is often referred to as the "Jimi Hendrix" of the kora. He sings in Malinké, Susu, Peulh, Wolof, French and English, but rejects classification and embraces innovation. Prince Diabaté brings not only a unique mastery over his ancestral tradition, but a commitment to renew it with fresh ideas and exchanges with musicians from other cultures.

Kathrin Shorr & Brian Joseph

Outdoor Concert

Aiming small spotlights on the personal and making it unviversal, Kathrin Shorr is an artist who deserves to be heard.  Kathrin offers a soundtrack to our lives, enabling us to move through it more fluidly and with passion.  Kathrin's debut CD has been sold out for months and her highly anticipated follow up endeavor, "Skirts and Nicotine" is expected for release at this June 7th concert.

Co-billing this evening is the extraordinary Brian Joseph.  Heavily influenced by pop music, the folk singer writes sweet and often funny songs about small moments with big meanings.  A winner of the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and the Tulluride Troubadour Competition, Brian is the thinking man's folk artist.  Humor, pain, comfort, and friendship weave and tangle their threads through every note, offering insight into his sensitivity and wit.
